Kali Dhyanam

Kali, Seated on a corpse, greatly terrifying, laughing loudly, with fearful fangs, four arms holding a cleaver, a skull, and giving the mudras bestowing boons and dispelling fear, wearing a garland of skulls, her tongue rolling wildly, completely naked (Digambar – clad in the directions), thus one should meditate on Kali, dwelling in the center of the cremation ground.

दस महाविद्या में काली प्रथम रूप है। माता का यह रूप साक्षात और जाग्रत है। काली के रूप में माता का किसी भी प्रकार से अपमान करना अर्थात खुद के जीवन को संकट में डालने के समान है। महा दैत्यों का वध करने के लिए माता ने ये रूप धरा था।

सिद्धि प्राप्त करने के लिए माता की वीरभाव में पूजा की जाती है। काली माता तत्काल प्रसन्न होने वाली और तत्काल ही रूठने वाली देवी है। अत: इनकी साधना या इनका भक्त बनने के पूर्व एकनिष्ठ और कर्मों से पवित्र होना जरूरी होता है।

यह कज्जल पर्वत के समान शव पर आरूढ़ मुंडमाला धारण किए हुए एक हाथ में खड्ग दूसरे हाथ में त्रिशूल और तीसरे हाथ में कटे हुए सिर को लेकर भक्तों के समक्ष प्रकट होने वाली काली माता को नमस्कार।

यह काली एक प्रबल शत्रुहन्ता महिषासुर मर्दिनी और रक्तबीज का वध करने वाली शिव प्रिया चामुंडा का साक्षात स्वरूप है, जिसने देव-दानव युद्ध में देवताओं को विजय दिलवाई थी। इनका क्रोध तभी शांत हुआ था जब शिव इनके चरणों में लेट गए थे।

कालिका के प्रमुख तीन स्थान है कोलकाता में कालीघाट पर जो एक शक्तिपीठ भी है। मध्यप्रदेश के उज्जैन में भैरवगढ़ में गढ़कालिका मंदिर इसे भी शक्तिपीठ में शामिल किया गया है और गुजरात में पावागढ़ की पहाड़ी पर स्थित महाकाली का जाग्रत मंदिर चमत्कारिक रूप से मनोकामना पूर्ण करने वाला है।

काली माता का मंत्र :

हकीक की माला से नौ माला 'ॐ क्रीं कालिकायै नमः।'
